A Long Day
So Todd got home from one of his longer trips late last night. Then early this morning he got up and headed to the church. Today was Spring planting at the Hope garden. After today it actually looks like a garden and not just a bunch of rows of dirt. I came and helped for the first time and it was a lot of fun! Savi help dig small trenches and spread fertilizer and Daniel helped keep Ian out of trouble. I ran the string down four 40 foot rows of pole beans that we planted today. Let me tell you my arms are tired! Todd and Rob pounded the posts and strung the main wires for the pole bean and also plant rows of peppers, garlic, and lots of other stuff. It will be fun once the seeds start to sprout!
About three hours into the day I decided the kids needed to go home so I hopped in the car to leave... The car won't start. I was also taking our friend Rob's son home with me to nap while they finished planting so we transfered everything to Rob's car and I went home leaving Todd and Rob to figure out what was wrong with our car. The AAA guy came and said let me try something... He pulled out a hammer and reached under our car and hit it on the gas tank. It started. I guess our fuel filter was clogged, he knocked it loose and the car could start. We still have to have that changed, but at least it isn't something REALLY major!
After everyone got home and cleaned up we headed out to The Reserve (a golf course around here) to do dinner for my brother-in-law Brian. We ate good food, sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather, and hung out with good people.
All in all, other than a mid-day speed bump, a lovely day!
