Everett Birthday Bash
So Between May 30th and June 28th the Everett side of our family has too many birthdays to try and celebrate them separately. This year we decide to have a big picnic and Celebrate everyone together. Brian Everett, May 30th, Savi Everett, June 8th, Father's Day June 15th, Roger Everett June 16th, Ian Everett June 17th and Brooklyn Everett June 28th! Whew! I get tired just thinking about it.
We chose a place called Horning's Hideout. A privately owned park out in the middle of nowhere that has tons of grass to play in, several play structures, and best of all a lake you can fish at with out a license. The kids always talk about wanting to fish and so we thought it would make a memorable day. We were right.
It started off with the kids watching the salamanders and blowing bubbles. When they decided it was time to fish, Grandpa Roger took Savi, Daniel and Brooklyn to rent the fishing poles. On the way there they stopped to watch someone else reel in a fish. When they got it in and on shore it got loose and came a little to close for comfort for Daniel and Brooklyn, you could hear them shrieking on the other side of the lake. It was hard not to laugh. They got the poles and came back, but by then Brooklyn wanted nothing to do with those slimy creatures coming out of the lake. Savi loved fishing though, Daniel too but not quite as much as Savi. He could handle the holding the pole part, and reeling it in, but once you could see it he was out of there. We ended up as a family catching five trout. Savi's was by far the biggest of the day. If you get the chance you should ask her to tell you her fish story. It is very cute to hear her tell it.
We opened presents (Savi got a bean bag chair to go in the play house Grandpa and Daddy are building) packed up and headed home with three very dirty and tired children. We came home, and cooked the trout for dinner. To our surprise all three kids ate it and seemed to like it. Everyone slept good that night! All in all a wonderful day!
